In Japan, private lessons seem to be something rather unheard of still, but overseas, private lessons are the normal way to improve your dancing. And they're really necessary. I recommend one private lesson per week.
Some people might feel shy in a one-on-one private lesson, but don't worry, you won't feel at all strange. We have instructors who will teach you in a nice and friendly manner.
If you're starting dance for the first time, a few private lessons will help you to participate in the group classes and have a good time, so I definitely recommend it.
Advanced dancers are now at a point where it is difficult to continue improving. I want you to notice that it's more common for advanced dancers to get worse than to get better. So you need private lessons. The most important thing for becoming a good dancer is to not develop bad habits. But they develop before you notice it. And bad habits take a long time to get rid of, so I recommend taking your time to work on them.
Private Lessons are like going to the doctor!
How different are private lessons and group lessons? When you need to see a doctor, a group lesson is like watching the health program ???, and a private lesson is like going to see a doctor.
You can schedule a private lesson in times other than scheduled times. Contact me to schedule in a time convenient for you. Reservations must be made and cannot be cancelled, so be sure about the time you want before scheduling your class.
I think that this studio is the only one offering private lessons so inexpensively. I don't know how long we'll be able to offer private lessons for this price, so take advantage now!
About NY students
People from all over the world are gathered in NY. Many people stay 4 or 5 years and then return to their country. One such student from Europe, for visa reasons, would come to NY about 2 weeks each year. She'd spend those 2 weeks taking private lessons from Aochan. She loves Brazilian dance, but there isn't any in her country. In her country she takes Argentine tango. Recently, after taking private lessons with Aochan and returning to her country, her instructor suddenly told her to join the advanced class. Aochan didn't teach her Argentine tango, but all dances have some things in common, and it seems that she grasped the importance of the follow and the lead. Argentine tango is generally said to be a difficult dance, but actually, all dances are very difficult. But what you see and what you don't see are different depending on the dance.
